Sprint, PX-500, and the card runs like a sewing machine on my laptop. Either with the connection manager or without.
I've had connect times over a day and a half, with little issue, one bar or none showing.
I'll set back up the router and get a delog for you here sometime. |

Here is the initial bootup to first connection log. It's a little bulky.
When it craps itself, I hope to get a snapshot of the log.

Nighthawke70,
looks like you didn't catch the problem in that log.

that is a somewhat general error with pppd.. have you gotten it to connect with the 5750 at all? To my understanding, the PX-500 and 5750 are the same card, with different labeling.

card connects fine in laptop. Maybe it has to do with the one alltel tower closest to me. That tower is currently set up and tested with EVDO. When I put my card on HDR only, I get very strong signals. But I 'can't connect with laptop .. wrong username/password or server does not answer. |

I had to write the script that I posted on pokies thread, that kills the following..
killall -9 pppd
rm /tmp/run/pppo.pid
killall -9 dnsmasq
cardctl eject 0
Then in the call back function I would call the following in the following order.
cardctl insert 0
/etc/init.d/S60dnsmasq
/etc/init.d/S80ppp
Below is my log file of re-dials, not reboots.

@joshuamcdo
you shouldn't use killall -9.. but I know that you do to make sure that it quits and the lock file is removed. Using killall -9 doesn't give pppd a chance to clean up (and I see that you have your script manually remove ppp0.pid).
my solution to that was
| Code: | killall pppd
while [ -e /var/lock/LCK..* ]; do
sleep 1
done |
that way it kills pppd and waits until the lock file is removed to move on.
also, rm /tmp/run/pppo.pid should be rm /tmp/run/ppp0.pid
@Mephis
thanks. I'm still working on this a lot, and its been updated quite a bit from v1.1 already. There will be even another version soon. |

| Does this firmware support router Access Restrictions? On Linksys version Access Restrictions do not work correctly and tech support acknowledges that "Engineers have verified the problem". They just don't seem to want to do anything about it, as it has been several months now. |

Does anyone know what patch Linksys Engineers applied to fix the Upload Speed. I am running the Linksys firmware and V1.1 Openwrt side by side and I get 26% improved upload and 11% improved download in the Openwrt compared to Beta Linksys firmware. Both break the 250K barrier that use to exist.
Could it just be the size?? Or perhaps the tool-chain optimized?
I have ran these tests by staggering upload/download tests on 2 linksys routers (side by side) using my wife s720 and my s720. I averaged the data over 3 days now..... I get an average of 680 upload on Openwrt compared to 503 on Linksys Beta and 1.48Mb vs 1.25Mb download. Wierd....
Guess that there could be some advantage in performance to White Russian and OpenWrt although I have had 'No issues with Beta hangups' and a few with OpenWrt. I think it primarily has to do with keep-alive although I am not quite sure yet. |

Thanks evdo-wizard!
We have all the Verizon cards and AT&T cards for testing and we can test them and report back. Can you provide a list of cards you suspect should work, we can test.
Thanks! _________________ EVDO :: EVDO News :: EVDO Antennas :: Buy Verizon :: Buy Sprint :: EVDO Amplifier |

| I've had absolutely no luck getting the PC5750 to connect on Alltel running the OpenWRT firmware. With the latest Linksys firmware, I connect no problem. Anyone else having problems? |

I've been using the firmware since you released it. I've had some trouble with the latest release.
I use a Sprint px-500. The router seems to lock-up for no reason. It won't establish new wireless connections, allow Internet traffic, nor assign out DHCP. I can't even get the admin page to load passed the login.
I have noticed it seems to be after a long period of no activity, like when I wake up in the morning or when I come home from work.
I unplug and plug in the router again and it starts working fine.
Think it might have been a bad flash? Flash again? |
