| SO, here are my questions. First, why is the speedtest being routed to Ohio and not the Chicago server? Second, can you post a traceroute rather than ping test to google? |

I believe it gets routed to the closest IP address, when you're talking 3g technology and cell phone towers, that doesn't always mean the closest to you geographically. |

| which is why a traceroute would be additionally helpful. i highly doubt chicagos xohm network is bypassing chicago servers. i can almost guarantee they hit the sprint chicago servers on the 3rd or fourth hop. i agree that the ip address being closer to ohio is an artifact. |

| I live by the chicago area... but I was hoping that I will be able to get online even while I am on the move (trains, buses) ..unfortunately looking at the hardware size, it doesnt look like. I am starting to wonder what is the difference between a regular comcast service to xhom? Am I missing something? |

You may be only seeing the fixed modem. There is also an ExpressCard for laptops. USB and PC cards are coming soon.
But you may want to wait until combo EVDO/WiMAX cards come, expected later this year, though the rates might be the same as EVDO.
Look over at the products page in 4gforums.com for what is coming. |

You should think about getting a lawyer. That forum looks just like this one,and they've went so far as to use your names.
All joking aside,if anyone ever comes out with a future "road map" for us poor souls out in the sticks, please post it.I have EVDO and it sure beats dial-up,but XOHM looks much better.
I'm guessing it will take a couple of years. |
