Just an FYI, I was experiencing these same problems. I posted back in April 2007, but eventually the problem went away. I couldn't figure it out and it happened even when I was not on the train.

| 84003 in Utah and there are about 20 of us at work that use them and have had this very frustrating problem with the EVDO the last 2 nights. Clear weather and not too hot. |

I'm in Pleasant Lake Michigan and for the last three days no EVDO Rev A network, only XRTT. I normally have good EVDO service here. Weather is beautiful, clear and no humidity. This is getting frustrating. We're paying $60 dollars a month for speeds less than dial-up.

| We had the same problem this past weekend. Thats 2 weekends in about 5 weeks. It only seems to happen during the weekend and not during the work week. Could this be a problem (servers down or something) that happens only on non-peak times? |

Looks like Michael had a post earlier in this thread that it was a piece of equipment associated with an HA and Sprint resolved it. Try changing your home agent. While it may not specifically be the HA, it will change your routing to a different path and might avoid the problem.
If that can be demonstrated, Sprint needs to figure out the problem associated with your HA. If you still have the problem on another HA, next step would be to see if it still does it on another tower in another part of town. |

So...I had the connection on and left home and came back in 2 hours this afternoon. The SCM says connected but port 80 traffic was blocked. I dug out my MSL code and changed my HA to Kansas City. So far so good.
I did some tracert to evdoforums and yahoo.com and the first 6-7 lines show quite a lot of dropped packets (*). I also noticed that what really sluggish during tracert is those traces before you see the sprint hose name. That's telling me the sprint network has lots of problems (at least congestion within their network). Usually the trace getting much faster and less packet drop after it leaves the sprint network.
I'm going to use this configuration and see if this works for me. Will post result.

After using the Kansas HA, we have not have any port 80 blocking problems. Kids were on Toontown for 2 hours and not reporting any disconnection (in the past week, they reported at least 5-6 times network problems within about 2 hours). I have also left the connection on and walked away and came back to the computer randomly and never got a port 80 block.
So, this is a known issue with Sprint. Their support people (first and second tier) are either denying the problem or don't have a clue about it. I am sure their third tier people know about the problem since this is not a new issue. However, I wonder how many of their 1st and 2nd tier people know this is a port 80 block and needs to escalate the issue internally. So, if only ordinary customes call and they are told to reboot/reconnect (it always works), the support call is closed and their tier-3 people may not even know there is a problem ! |

| I ahve been having fits with this for about a week or so. I can IM and play internet games but email and browing and streaming some podcasts i listen is out. SOmetimes rebooting helps, sometimes it doesn't. |

Yeah, ok, so I posted in another thread, but this is happening to me too! Been happening for the past week... with MANY MANY ips it seems. I have no idea what a HA or even how to change it to make it work. I would LOVE for there to be a way to make this work. It has been driving my entire office crazy! I can't get anywhere with it. The strange thing is i have a website hosted at other office using a non-standard port, and that works, which was really confusing me. But after reading this whole thread, I understand that this is my situation TO A T!
