I've been experiencing a lot of the same issues mentioned here with
the Roachdale, IN 77 HA. So much to the fact I'd have to drop and restart
the connection in order to be able to pull up any websites using IE or FF.
For some reason, AOL works when IE and FF will not.
I'm testing a number of HAs trying to tune the connection, but that's the
worst one, even though I saw some problems across other HAs. |

WEATHER!!!!!!
There was a tremendous storm across the northern states that has caused massive flooding...
Look out your windows once in a while...
Heck, the credit card system in South Florida often go wanko when it rains real hard. Not every terminal is affected but I could determine which ones would from the last rain.
Also, the storm was strong enough to blow down trees which some times fall across imporant wires or knock down towers. |

We are having the same problem in Minneapolis, zip codes 55410 and 55416.
I can get it to connect (at least the icon says its connected), but I can't download. |

Who are you talking to jack? Me? Simply because I questioned your theory? Are you for real? Well, I look out my windows once in a while. The weather is perfect here. Very hot but, as I mentioned before, no storms.
Everything is affected in S. Florida when it rains real hard. Been there and done that. There's not a lot of places for the hard rainfall to go. Does that affect EVDO in N.Y.? In Indiana? It might but probably not usually. I'm thinking nationwide wireless access doesn't necessarily run through S. Florida.
Pay attention and you might notice this appears to be a Sprint wide problem that they won't acknowledge and that doesn't appear to have any rhyme or reason to it. Can weather be a factor? Most definitely. Is it a certainty at this point? Not that I can tell. Too many times this appears to be happening in widespread areas both when there's bad weather somewhere in the country and when there's not.
Does it require some folks to act like a jerk on the forums? Apparently so. Get a grip!! |

I just experienced the same thing:
Cary, Illinois 60013
I did a little more research & troubleshooting.
I could ping google.com
None of our web sites would come up (they were up on all other computers).
I could NOT enter in http://1.2.3.4
BUT
I could enter http://1.2.3.4:8080
So, the same web server was working on port 8080, BUT not port 80. This is not a DNS issue, but a caching/port 80 issue that the Sprint networks seem to be having.
We have a few contacts high up at Sprint and we will try to find out what is going on and report back. _________________ EVDO :: EVDO News :: EVDO Antennas :: Buy Verizon :: Buy Sprint :: EVDO Amplifier |

Look forward to hearing back Michael. Nice to know we're not imagining it as the Sprint "techs" want us to believe. |

precisely...
PCS shouldn't be heavily impacted by weather; I've had it POURING down, and I still got my same download/upload speeds, stability, and latency...
The reason the credit card systems go out when it's raining extremely heavily is because they use HughesNET broadband satellite service to carry the data; and we all know that even with a 100% signal (impossible) a dish will still "go down" if the rain blocking it is heavy enough.
anyway...I, too, will be looking forward to hear what Sprint has to say.... |

| Same problem this morning (8/8/07, between 8AM and 10AM) near Lancaster, OH 43130. I've got a PX500 plugged into a Linksys WRT54G3G-ST. When I noticed the problem, a reset brought things back. It happened 2 or 3 times. The first time, I went to the admin webpage on the Linksys and rebooted. The second (third?) time I hit the data card switch to reset the card. Worked fine the rest of the day. |

This is why I wait a looooooong time after a software upgrade to actually apply it. |

I forgot to add that my Zip is 47106 for where the card's being used.
If someone needs the tests I was doing as proof, the numbers are pretty clear that the signal went from some really nice 1600 down 400 up with around 110 latency to 425 / 106 with latency all over the board from 100's to the mid 200's.
I don't have a time stamp per say on each test, but I can give general times, the HA, IP address's that finally did allow me to load a page, average ping, speeds, and which servers I was speed testing off of. Even the RWIN, and MTUs if you want to get really into it...

BTW, if you cannot use web services, but can ping and use other internet protocols, try disconnecting/reconnecting until you can. I've had to do this several times in the last few weeks.
You might also start noting what your IP address is when you cannot hit web servers. If we can collect enough information, we MIGHT convince 3G to see if they can get the information to an engineer. |

| I'm having some weirdness in Kings Mountain, NC (30 miles west of Charlotte, NC). Been getting signals of -82 over the last week with my new external omni antenna with speeds of 1000 down 350 up. Past two days though I either can't connect due to a -105 signal, or I get the same -82 signal but once connected I can't load any pages or anything. Just been wondering what's up. I've been debating calling customer service but with all the bad tales I see on hear of Sprints CS I just don't know if I have the patience, so I'm hoping they're just working on the towers and it works itself out. |

Guys, can we keep this thread on topic and not call each other jerks. Attacking individuals here is not allowed, take it to email. I have removed posts, if they continue, individuals will be banned. It is VERY IMPORTANT that when we have Sprint Engineers looking at this thread, they get the info they need.
Thanks! _________________ EVDO :: EVDO News :: EVDO Antennas :: Buy Verizon :: Buy Sprint :: EVDO Amplifier |

Here are the IP's that I received when HTTP was blocked:
68.31.238.191 -- Broken HTTP
70.9.68.143 -- Broken HTTP
70.9.41.91 - Broken HTTP
70.9.85.237 - Broken HTTP
Usually, disconnecting/reconnecting allowed things to work again. |

For anyone that has had this borken HTTP port 80 issue, please post the IP Address you were assigned.
We have people at Sprint looking at it and they requested IP Addresses.
This thread is ONLY for discussing the current issue, not speeds you might be getting or not getting, any other posts will be removed, so please post them in a appropriate or new thread - thanks for your understanding _________________ EVDO :: EVDO News :: EVDO Antennas :: Buy Verizon :: Buy Sprint :: EVDO Amplifier |
