| And to think there are so many in a rush to willingly pay $60+ for a service not worthy of $10...go figure. These aircard deals, or wireless, whatever you want to call it, is one the biggest scams of the decade. People paying big money for slow speeds and crappy service...suckers, to say the least. |

I have neither slow speeds or crappy service. You must be talking about Verizon.

I've canceled my cable modem after using EVDO for a couple years and don't miss it. I'd rather have 300Kbps net access most anywhere w/out having to look for hotspots than to pay less for fixed 10Mbps. Just depends on your needs. I have what I need, no scam, not suckered into anything. EVDO is good enough and much more reliable than public WiFi.
Cellphones have less reliability than landline phones and cost higher, yet many cancel their home phone for the mobility of cellphones. I've done that years ago too, with no plans to have landline again... would rather have the mobility than highest reliability. Cellphones are good enough. No one is suckered into it. |

Considering I am in an area that only gets 28.8 Dialup, EVDO is pretty much my only option. I just hate to thing I will have to use Verizon to get a stable connection (And turn into the Usage Dictator to keep under 5gb a month).
I do feel the issue lies on Sprint's network. My connection was perfect for the first month and a half, until the beginning of March which is when it went nuts. |

You won't get 300kbps most anywhere, as you think. Once outside of an EVDO area you will be lucky to see 100kbps. I've tested this over a 1200 mile stretch...300 kbps "most anywhere" is a pipedream. You will be lucky to see an occassional 100kbps, 40 -50 kbps would be more accurate. If you think that type of service is worth $60+ @ month I have a bridge in New York I can sell you. |

Yes, the 5G limit does suck. But, if the speed is there you're better off. This is supposed to be a mobile service anyway, not for home use and big downloads.
As far as Sprint and your connection, I stand by my last comment. Crappy service! Some will willingly give their hard earned money for crappy service. |

I just got my EX720 card this evening so I'm new at this. I've been trying to figure out what the green light on the card means. Some times it's steady and some times it's flashing. I've looked through the book that came with the card - it's not much help.
I've learned there's no sense contacting Sprint to get an questions answered - what a joke their support is. |

Same here.
I'd still like to hear from others with this situation. Or, even better, from someone with a solution

I'm seeing more or less the same thing.
I'm seeing very intermittent network performance. It's worse during the evenings than during the rest of the day. At this point, I'm convinced that it's some sort of congestion on Sprint's backhaul network more than any sort of EVDO device to tower issue. |

It's very possible that it's due to congestion. My connection was like that until Sprint rerouted the traffic on their backhaul network (confirmed by comparing before and after traceroutes) . My speeds have been much more consistent since. _________________ Reach, Connect, Celebrate, Grow, Serve. |

For those of you with this problem ... does the situation ever seem to improve? It seems as if some days are better than other for me.

| yes. my Sierra 595 PCMCIA / Toshiba U205 / Winpuke-XP disconnects often. sometimes every 10 minutes, sometimes every hour, but often. every 3 or 4 times, the Sprint Mobile Broadband Manager freezes up, or the sierra 595 stops blinking, and i have to pull the card out, and kill the application under winpuke. i have another Toshiba PC, a U200, and it happens the same. i'm here now in silicon valley, living along 280/17 san jose area, and drive up and down 280 to palo alto, and mountain view weekly. the same thing happens all of the time on either the u200 or u205. it happens too when i visit my folks in los angeles santa monica freeway/crenshaw, my client in san diego mira mesa/805, etc. when it works it's great, but it's a PITA now. |

A resounding YES the same thing is happening to me. Ever since I got the router for my Sprint card back in January.
It intermitantly cuts out. Can't predict it and it does it while I am actively using the internet. Sometimes goes out for hours. Sometimes for minutes.
I usually have to continue to reboot the router or repair the contection through the Firmware to get it to go back online. That is IF it will go back online.
I have good signal and if I put the card directly into my computer this doesn't happen.
This has been VERY frustrating to say the least. |

I think my original issue is a little different from some of the others posted here. I am not using a router. I am using a laptop pc. It was working fine for the first 4 months that I had service.
The last few months, when I'll be working on my laptop, browsing web-page, sending emai, etc... The Connection manager will go from Green->grey. Connected to Disconnected, without any warning. Sometimes I will try to get to a web-page by clicking a link, and I notice nothing is coming back within a few seconds. Then I go look at the connection manager and it either disconnected already or changes to disconnected within a few seconds.
This is with a Pantech PX-500 newest software and a Dell D800 laptop. |

Also, every day at least once when I pull out the Sierra Wiresless 595 card, WINPUKE BSODs.
For the past 2 days (at least), when i went to bed I left the EVDO connection up, and when I woke up 8-10 hours later, it was still up. -88dBm EVDO-A, -99 1xRTT.
But then when I start using it, it freezes up again eventually.
Maybe it's a congestion problem, as some have suspected. Obviously it's a Spintg defect. Has Sprint acknowledged the defect ? |
