I'm using a Linksys WRT54G3G-ST and a PC5740 card from sprint

Several times a day (every morning and random other times) I have to reboot the router. All i do is unplug it and wait a little then plug it back in. I was browsing the forums yesterday and found that the new firmware might solve the problem so I downloaded 2.00.9 and upgraded the router.

I'm still having this reboot problem. Is this something that just has to happen or can I change a setting somewhere that will make it stay up 24/7?

Thanks

What is happening that it requires a reboot? Unresponsive? Not serving DHCP? WAP down? LAN down? Won't connect to your provider?

FWIW, I had to reboot my WRT54GS router every day, but thankfully dd-wrt let you set up a cron to do it. More recent revisions of dd-wrt did resolve my problem (DHCP daemon dying) so now I just have it reboot Sunday mornings just because.

Have you contacted Sprint or the seller and ask for help?

It's possible you may have a defective unit and it should be replaced.

Sprint won't help you. I had an issue and each company kept putting it off on the other. It's still unresolved. I'm seriously thinking about contacting the BBB because I don't know what else to do.

I had the same problem with the 5740 card. Changed it out to an s720 and the problem was gone... Seems to be related to the 5740 if you ask me.

I did the change out during the first 30 days, so I only had to pay the difference in the card price. I think that if you do the changeout after the 30 days, you have to buy the new card outright.

I just hooked up my Linksys router (with the latest firmware) yesterday and am seeing the same problem with a Pantech PX-500. I am seeing the loss of internet (can't ping or do anything) several times over just the course of a day. The blue light is on indicating mobile access but at times the connection is just dead...I have to disconnect and reconnect for things to start working. This is frustrating to see the least with a new router.

I'm getting considerably more than 2 or 3 restarts a day. I'm not positive but my problems seemed to have started shortly after I performed the firmware upgrade to 2.00.09. I don't recall having this problem at all on the original firmware....anyone know if the 2.00.04 firmware is available for download. I'm using the 620 card.
