Thanks, it does.
Have started using the internet connect instead of the vzaccess manager, and thanks for deciphering the blinking lights for me (though at night sometimes i wish there was a "turn off the led" function somewhere).
Only other odd issue i have is only on occasion when i am downloading much stuff (like in excess of 5 files simultaneously) i will lose all bandwidth, i do not get kicked off or anything, but the modem still thinks i am connected but doesnt get any traffic up or down. The only way to fix this is to disconnect, remove the card, reinsert, and reconnect. Does anyone else experience this? Does it possibly indicate a defect in the card when pulling too much bandwidth (because my down speed is amazing at these times too before i lose bandwidth) that it craps out, or is it a network thing?
Any thoughts? |

| Okay, I've been using KPC650 with Compaq laptop close to 9 months with no problems. My brother just got me a PowerBook G4 and I installed VZAccess Manager and everything seems to work. I'm used to troubleshooting Windows issues but I'm completely lost in MAC OS X! There's nothing wrong now, but I want to be ready to troubleshoot when the time comes. Is there an equivalent of Windows Device Manager to verify if the PC card was installed correctly? I've seen a post where the PC card does not illuminate blue (l.e.d) which indicates no power......how do you troubleshoot in MAC environment? I know I should read a book or something, but any quick tips for troubleshooting PC cards in MAC? |

I have found, that if you have some goofy things going on with VZAccess Manager, you can quit VZAccess Manager, and then trash the VZAccess Manager Preferences file in the following location:
User Folder -> Library -> Preferences -> VZAccess Manager Preferences _________________ EVDO :: EVDO News :: EVDO Antennas :: Buy Verizon :: Buy Sprint :: EVDO Amplifier |

| Thanks Michael for the tip. Just curious.....what happens after I trash the VZAccess Preferences file? Do I have to go through the VZAccess installation process again or do I launch VZAccess as usual ? |

|
|
| My last bill had several minuts of IS95 data usage. Can Verizon disable IS95 data usage at their end? I tend to connect without using VZAccess Manager by setting the location manually & using the standard Apple dialer. I have been getting a lot of disconnects recently & I suspect one of my reconnects by the Apple dialer must have somehow dropped into IS95 mode. |

Please help! I have a Mac G4 Laptop and a Novatel wireless card V620. I downloaded the installer off this site and the computer now recognizes the card, but still cannot connect to the network. It dials for a minute and then says "A modem error occured".
My question is this: What is the username and password that I should be using? Is it the same as on the page as the manual instructions or is it different for each user. On the directions page, it says this:
# In this new profile, enter the following:
# Service Provider = Verizon
# Account Name = xxxxxxxxxx@vzw3g.com (replace xxx's with your Verizon Phone Number)
# Password = vzw
# Telephone Number: #777
But does all that still apply, or am I putting in the wrong credentials? And if so, what credentials should I be putting in? |

Hey guys, first post here. Havn't had a chance to get EVDO running, but I'm considering it for when I move out of Kalamazoo. Depends on where I get service.
As for not being able to get EVDO on 12" Pbooks or iBooks, can you use a tethered EVDO connected phone? If not, would something like this work? (If mac drivers were available - I don't own a mac, nor did I look too closely at these products)

Another long link
I linked the last two because I'm not sure if it would screw with the formatting of the page.
So, how about it? Why would these not work to get those macs running EVDO?[/url] |

"At this time, we are unable to give a data or time frame when this decision would be changed. Verizon Wireless has developed a strong identity, as a company, for doing things "right" when we jump into new areas of the wireless service business and at this point, our business strategy and financial teams say there is not a strong business case that would lead us to dedicate the human and financial resources required to support Mac."
Support? Just give us the proper drivers and installer. Mac's don't need no stinking support. |

| Did my OSX update last night, then when I went to get on today, I put my V620 card in and got a message...new device detected or something like that. I figure ok...here we go again with having to reinstall my card all over again. So, I click continue, it finishes, everything just works, now I have a nice signal strength indicator and data transfer indicator. Everythings works great. Thanks MAC! |

|

My PC5220 has worked well for a year with Verizon National Access using Internet Connect. I upgraded to Broadband Access yesterday and can not get broadband speeds. The connection still works at National Access speeds.
VZAccess manager does not recognize the card. Verizon rep says they do not support the PC5220 on the Mac any longer and they can not help. He thinks the later OS upgrades have broken the broadband capability for the card.
How can I use the my PC5220 with Verizon Broadband service? I would like to avoid buying a new card, but will buy one if that is the best solution. |

Assuming your download sites are delivering at the maximum speed, you won't save any time downloading 5 at once versus 5 in a row. There are download managers that will que up the file files and download them one at a time eliminating your problem. |

The PC5220 works fine on OS 10.4.7 and works fine with NationalAccess and BroadbandAccess. Our tests indicate that PC5220 EVDO cards with both the older firmware and updated firmware work with OS 10.4.7.
VZAccess Manager for Mac does not support the PC5220. Never did.
First, make sure that your account is set up correctly (that you have BroadbandAccess on your account). We have had many report that accounts are not always set up correctly.
Second, make sure you are running OS 10.4.7 which includes native support for that card.
Third, uninstall any instance of VZAccess Manager on your Mac. It will conflict with your Mac's native support when using Verizon (and Sprint) cards.
Last, when you insert the card, you should see a tower with 'bars' show up in the menu and see a prompt to configure. Assuming you have done this, you will probably need to activate the card: Option>Click the icon, choose Activate Card...
If this fails you may need to manually activate the card in a Windows PC. That will require VZAccess Manager (and may require a firmware update to the card if you haven't done it). Verizon Data Tech Support should be able to help you with this. |

ok,
after finally figuring out my k650, i upgrade to a macbook pro and just got the wonderful v640 a couple days ago. when i first got it i put it in, osx noticed it, and it worked great (with the 10.4.7 and everything). now i decided to install the VZaccess software and now i lost the beautiful toolbar osx integration for the card and i can only see the stregnth bars inside the VZaccess program. Does the VZaccess installer somehow supercede the beautiful osx integration. I have tried creating new network locations, removing and re-inserting the card with and without VZ access running, and i cannot seem to get it back.
any tips? |
