| No additional coax. What are you saying? The radio shack is better or will not work? |

He is saying they are the same unit but with different connecter. If you are using a wilson cable from your device you will need an additional adapter to connect to the antenna and additional adapter will add to RF loss in cabling and connections |

I have one of the "Wilson Trucker Antennas", and I haven't used it in a year or two. I found, when using it with a Sprint telephone, that it really gave a lot of gain at teh analog frequency -- 868 MHz, right? -- but on the Sprint digital frequency -- what, maybe 1.9 GHZ??? -- it cut my received signal strength by about half. I just chalked it up to it being a dual-band antenna. I always prefer good single-band antennas, if I have the room and can make them work, but it doesn't appear that's going to happen with the new data card setups.

You wanted to hear from someone who has used a u720 or s620 with the Wilson Omnia that it worked for, I'm one. The results were not earth shattering but it was able to turn a fading in and out signal into a constant usable connection. In fact the Wilson Omni connected with just the adapter and mounted outside on my gutter faired better than the s620 using an amp and another brand omni antenna.

I'm wondering if you have interferance of some nature at your exterior location or moving the antenna up higher puts you in worse los to the tower. No close large metal barns or buildings in the los pathway to the tower when locating the omni outside is there? I am not an expert or nearly as knowledagble as others here regarding antennas/signals but there has to be something causing your problem because it is an odd situation. |

| It seems that the omni does not work with the u720. Has it been tested with the u720?? If anyone has had success with the u720 PLEASE post!!!!! |

What is wierd is that if it did not work with the trucker antenna , logic would tell you it would not work with any external antenna and that there was a problem with the RF port on the device. Could you post a comparision of using no antenna and the Omni directional mounted outside where it has a clear line of site around it in, from all directions. Maybe we can figure something out from that |

| With no antenna -87dbm with booster -80 to -85 dbm with omni -90 to-----95 dbm with clear view leaning against the house -80 to -85 but performance greatly reduced. |

I am a little unclear on clear view leaning against the house.Does not seem like it would have a clear line of sight in all directions leaning against the House. Have you mounted above the roof line?. Are you using the same adapter cable with both antennas ? Just trying to eliminate all variables |

| Sorry the last post was not clear. When it is leaning against the house it gets a better signal than when it is up on the roof. I am using the same cable each time(have also tried different cables). |

Well you got me , There is no way a 3db antenna inside a structure should be outperforming a 6db antenna mounted properly outside. You have certainley done your due dilligence so this is just gonna have to be chalked up to one of those mysteries of the Universe. Good luck in your Quest for better signal |

Maybe it is acting as a directional antenna and it is pointed directly at the tower. You got me , Maybe your next venture should be a Yagi (directional antenna) pointed in the same direction the booster-antenna is facing. Like I said , good luck I am sure you will get a solution you are happy with eventually . |

Ok I dismissed Dhess's claims and had slightly different results at first but some odd things started happening last week, oddly after updating the connection manager on the u720. Now when the Wilson Omni is connected the signal drops from -3 to -10 db. I checked the antenna out, no damage and alignment is the same as before but something is going on. I'm puzzled.
The evdo tower is about 6-7 miles away while the 1xrtt tower is less than a mile away. The same thing happens with both towers 1xRTT or EVDO. |

| Like I said I have not had anyone reply that the omni has worked for the u720. Everyone who has responded about the u720 has said it has not worked with the omni.I have asked before if anyone(who does not run this site) has used the omni with the u720 and had good results PLEASE POST. I would not by an omni for the u720 until this is resolved. |
