Getting strong EVDO north of Ames, IA and Boone, IA for the first time today 09-26-07! Area has been 1X before.

In the weeks leading up to the change, my wifes phone was flickering back and forth to EVDO depending on the floor of the house, but my PDA wasn't showing anything before today.

Granite Falls, WA - EVDO d/l 410 u/l 88 (testmy.net) - not sure which revision, but this just happened in the past week. We have a new tower in the middle of town and when they started it about a year I ago I dreamed that it would make EVDO a reality for me.
I hope to be dumping Wildblue when my contract runs out at the end of this month. I have my laptop tethered to to my Motorola Q to run the test and to post this reply.
I am exploring antenna and booster options - I have 1-2 bars in side the house, I hope to do better with a roof mounted omni.

updated: the Motorola Q might not be rev A capable?...

Add southern Illinois to the list.. Carbondale, SID 1189, south of I64 it looks like. Rev A popped up this morning 10/8. 1179/339 just now, I'm sure lots of optimization to come.

I have a few to add to the list that I have found EVDO (with my phone). Currently, I do not have Verizon's Internet Service. But I hope to soon. I've not heard anything about EVDO being in the following two towns, and it is an extremely rural area. Also, as a note - I don't believe EVDO has been there very long. But, I had a full signal in both towns. So, it should be there.

Bloomfield, IN
Linton, IN

EVDO is now available in Clarksville, VA. I have not checked Boydton, VA or South Hill, VA but I will be going through both towns tomorrow.

Now to add: Columbus, Indiana
(not sure about surrounding areas, I'll have to check it out and report back). I first noticed the EVDO yesterday morning when I got up.

yes, they have recently rolled out evdo in the following towns:

Farmville, VA
Clarksville, VA
Bracey, VA
South Hill, VA
Kenbridge, VA
Victoria, VA
Keysville, VA

I'm using the bracey tower w/ broadband access. I'm about 3 miles from the tower getting between 600-900 kbps. I'm thinking about getting an evdo antenna to test.

Whats the deal with the EVDO Coverage Lightning Rod for $189 anyway? Is it any good. I tried to search for forum for information but can't find anything.
