Does anyone know if the Linksys router WRT54G3G-ST will support the Aircard 595. It says it will support the Aircard 580 but doesnt say anything about the 595. I would like to hear from somone who has already tried this before I order one.

Thanks

So far the Linsksys WRT54G3G-ST with the current v2.00.4 firmware does not support the Sierra Wireless Aircard 595.

See the compatibility page here: http://www.evdoinfo.com/customer_support/EVDO_Routers/

Crying or Very sad

Thanks for the info. Im trying to decide whether I need to replace the my AC595 with the S720. I understand you guys cant predict the future, but since there is no support for the card now, what are the chances there would be support from Linksys in the future? Lets say on a scale 1-10. 1 being not gonna happen and 10 being works and has continued support.

Thanks again

I have heard from our contact at Cisco, that the AC595 and PX-500 will be certified in the future.

Just no way to know how long that process will take.

I do not know about the Aircard 595 however I do about the PX-500.

The Pantech PX-500 WILL NOT WORK with the WRT54G3G-ST router. It wont even show up in the web setup or in the made for dummies setup on the cdrom.

I am returning the PX-500 card today and replacing it with a Merlin S620 That I already use on another network and know it works fine.

I am posting this to save others the time I lost on this card.

Good hunting and keep tech posts comming we do read them.

Smile

The Linksys WRT54G3G-ST works great with the Pantech PX-500. However, you must contact Sprint to get the latest firmware update as it's not available anywhere on the Linksys site and their tech support doesn't seem to know anything about it.

The following is the firmware to request:
WRT54G3G-ST_2.00.9_US_code.bin

For those of you who use the Links EVDO Router with the Merlin S720, you may want to wait to see if this new firmware causes any unforeseen complications, before you do a firmware update yourself.
