Jut received my V640 today also and installation couldn't have been easier. Just plug it in, let it activate and detect port. Works great. The signal strenth indicates a slightly less then my Kyrocea (3 bars vs 4 bars), but the speeds are the same around 800 up and 120 down (I think I read others had the same experiance).

As this is my primary conection to the internet, I can finally use my Macbook Pro at home and for business travel without having to deal with dialup. Thanks EVDO forums/Booster Antenna

Thanks for the report, glad it is working for you.

We noticed that same thing, the signal strength appears to be less than the KPC650, BUT the speed is as good. After about 5 minutes, we noticed that the signal strength gets better on the Novatel V640.

Ok - I got the card. Put it in, said it was going to activate, things happen and at first it said it couldn't activate, then another window pops up and asks me for telephone number, account name, and password. Now on the paper there is a telephone number and account name, I guess, but no password. What am I missing. I'm using a friends computer this evening in hopes of getting it working because it will be Tuesday before I can call.

Try installing the VZAccess that comes with the card. Also, make sure you are in a strong signal ara (3-4 bars), when doing the first time activation.

You can also email support@Booster-Antenna.com (include you name, so we can confirm who you are).

Finally, you can try calling Verizon Data Tech Support (24/7) Support at:

Ok - got connected. Booster antenna works great out in the western woods of Michigan. Does anyone know what port I should use for sending email through my .mac account? I use to have to use 587 for our cable modem setup and haven't had any problems doing that using WiFi, but I can't seem to do that using the ExpressCard. What port number should I use? I tried to get on the Apple Support discussion area, but couldn't get to it this evening.

.mac SMTP send on port 587 works fine on my setup - be sure to use authentication.
