Not sure if you guys caught this yet:

Found on Engadget. Looks like you'll be able to use this on Macbook pros and other non-PCMCIA laptops!
Sorry if this is old news. |

Interesting!
I found this paragraph especially curious:
| Quote: | Several manufacturers, most notably Kyocera, have put EV-DO to Wi-Fi routers on the market. But up until now, those products were shunned by the biggest wireless carriers in the US, who frowned on people sharing out EV-DO connections. Sprint will be selling their Linksys router both online and through retail stores, Sherrard said.
|
The article states that there'll be no extra charge to "share" the connection using the router. So, in essence, they'll be encouraging the sharing of the signal.
Very interesting!
Thanks, Boone |

...and it will cost less than the Kyocera. I'm assuming that this will eventually force the price of the KR1 down to compete, right?
Will you be able to sell this, Michael? |

What's also interesting is the 40% increase of CDMA towers by 2008. Sprint has said in the past they would expand CDMA on existing Nextel sites to cover 268 million population vs. 250m+ today natively with voice. That's inline with Cingular coverage but with one consistent network of Rev A by then. |

| My question -- will the KR1 support the new Sprint USB dongle? This would seem to be an excellent combination. |

I checked earler and KR1 cannot have an EVDO card and EVDO USB at same time load balanced.
But I wonder if the Linksys router will even take a USB device/phone. I don't see a port. Michael? |
