|
Router bricked while trying to upgrade firmware.
If power cycled, status comes up orange.
When I do the paperclip-to-the-reset-button & power on I can get to the recovery page @ 192.168.0.1 successfully. Router responds to pings OK.
Select firmware version 1002 selected, upgrade button pressed.
...and then nothing happens -- have waited up to a half hour. Tried it on Mac OS X 10.4.7 with Firefox 1.5, Safari and also tried it on my Windows XP SP2 machine wtih Explorer and Firefox 1.5. All the while the router continues to respond to pings OK.
I downloaded the firmware again and tried the second copy just in case there was any corruption, it made no difference in the results.
After fooling around with this for a few hours trying all the combinations of platoforms and browsers, I'm at my wits end.
I'd really like my working router back. Any tips appreciated which woud allow me to avoid having to send the bricked router back to Kyocera for repair, for instance I've heard there's another level of "recovery" possible that people don't talk about much, please clue me in. |
