|
|
Today when we first inserted our KPC650 in our PowerBook 15 inch, we were greeted by a message asking us to register our VZAccess 2.0 software.
We have NEVER seen this dialog before today (probably using VZAccess 2.0 for 45 days or so). So we clicked the Register Later. That did NOTHING. So, we decided to register, we filled in all the information, and clicked Register. The only problem, we were not connected to the internet, AND the registration failed. Luckily, we were near a hotspot, so we connected and registered and then we saw:
So, we disconnected from the hotspot, turned off Airport and then launched VZAccess 2.0 for Mac. We got in the same loop, asking us to register. Uh no, we cannot connect using VZAccess 2.0. So, there is a critical bug in the registration module for VZAccess. Once, Verizon & Smith Micro are aware of this, I am sure there will quickly be a fix.
Until there is a fix, here is one solution.
Use Internet Connect to connect. Use the NationalAccess-BroadbandAccess location that VZAccess automatically creates for you. We are connected right now updating this on EVDOinfo, using Internet Connect to have our KPCX650 connect (skipping VZAccess - which is the only way our card will work until there is a fix for this bug).
If you purchased your Kyocera KPC650 from us and are having troubles, email us at support@EVDOinfo.com and we will send you additional information on this and how to resolve it. _________________ EVDO :: EVDO News :: EVDO Antennas :: Buy Verizon :: Buy Sprint :: EVDO Amplifier |

Can you revert back to the previous (v1.1) package, or does the system cache the newer driver (and subsequent registration bug)?
I have the V2 dmg sitting here on my desktop. Guess I could be guinea pig numero dos. |

Seems like v.1.1 is subject to the bug as well...fresh install from the Verizon CD for a new KPC 650 to work with a (also new) Powerbook G4 17", everything right out of the box.
The reg page appeared on this configuration after 5 days use. I would assume that downgrading from 2 to 1.1 wouldn't get you very far in this issue either (since I'm seeing it too!)
Hope that helps!

| I installed v.2.0.0 without any issues, btw. VZAccess Manager is now on v.2.2.0 (build 1364) for the KPC650. |
