That should work until you experiance a loss of signal on the WAN port at which time the whole router will reset. When the signal comes back the router will recover but I doubt your video stream will.
Mackieman: My item for the wish list would be to not reset the router

Here are some ideas that I think would be easy to do. How about have the STATUS light solid if in EV-DO mode and blink if 1xRTT.
WLAN led could be solid when no one is connected, and blink if connection. Would be handy to see if someone is on your network.
How about adding WLAN support for accepting only certain MAC's?
Then I could leave my notebooks in open mode and not worry about others connecting to the KR-1.
I posted this elsewhere but will add it here too. Incoming UDP packets dont pass through the KR-1 if they are not running checksums. This makes it difficult on some UNIX systems. The UPD packet without checksum is considered a valid packet. They pass through my DLINK DI-624 no problem. |

The issue with doing this is that KR1 would have to talk to the card on a different level than it currently does. This feature was desired, explored, and determined to be not feasible for this version. Hopefully this is something that can be addressed in KR2.

Not a bad idea; this feature was implemented for the WAN LED starting with RK1006. It exists the way it does now because that is default D-Link operation. It also signifies that the WiFi module is active and broadcasting. I could go either way, personally.

That feature exists. See Filters on the Advanced tab.

What type of connection/tunnel are you trying to establish? SSH, telnet, VPN? KR1 does not support some protocols and security types. It would be helpful to understand your specific setup. |

None of the above. Just call it snmp, it would have the same problem.
I'm talking to an embedded device that uses UDP w/o the optional
checksum. i.e. the checksum field == 0. ssh, telnet, vpn all use tcp |

Hello All,
I have a router at home and at the shop, both of them can set the wireless only section of the router to use the mac address filter ...
A check box that applies the Mac filter to wifi only or everything would be very helpful ...
We leave our wifi open with just use mac address filters turned on ...
But as a shop we plug new boxes into the lan all of the time ...
This would be very useful update ....
