Airport Extreme Doesn't Play Nice with Windows

I am going to preface my question with a statement:
The only stupid question is the one that doesn't get asked.
Here's my question:
I am trying to share my EVDO connection (KPC650/G4 Powerbook) with Windows computers. One is running Windows 2000 and one has XP. I have the 40-bit encryption turned ON with a 5 letter password. The Windows machines won't connect. They "see" my network but they do not get a password prompt. I have to turn OFF my WEP encryption and - voila! - they can share my connection. Any Mac in range can share, no problem. What gives?

Try using the actual key instead using the passphrase.

I would suggest you research this as a "OSX version x.xx to Windows XP SPx" issue... this should be covered on many OSX forums...
