Apple just posted the OS X Broadband Tuner 1.0.
In a quick, unscientific test it improved download performance by around 25% from 80kbytes/sec to 100kbytes/sec!
It did not resolve my underlying issue of stalling downloads, but Verizon expects to have a software update RSN.
The tuner looks great, though. Recommended! |

Does this save settings by connection type? E.g., cable, Wi-Fi, cellular broadband?
Or is it "one size fits all"? |

Based on the info published by Apple, the patch applies this globally except for modems. It struck me as interesting that it had impact on EVDO, since that is treated as a modem by the system.
But you cannot argue with the results |
